  • What was the most memorable experience?
I went to a village in Chiang Mai, Thailand, and I did homestay there. I experienced living in a village and enjoyed a bath without a shower and a self-sufficient lifestyle. It gave me an impression that the villagers were very kind to us.
  • What was your proudest accomplishment during your stay?
I had a lecture on women's studies at Chiang Mai University in Thailand. It inspired me to think about how Thai women and children are living and what it means to have no rights. It made me feel a sense of accomplishment when I learned about it and started having my own thoughts about it.
  • What was the most critical thing in preparation before leaving Japan?
I think it is to study the official language of the country you're going to. I hadn't studied Thai language at all because I had an interpreter when I went to Thailand. However, I could have had a little conversation with the local people without an interpreter if I had known some words. I thought I should have studied Thai at least once.
