  • What was the most memorable/impressive experience?
I had innumerable experiences in Ireland, but the most memorable one was a homestay experience. I stayed with an Irish family for a month. My host mother entertained me every day with homemade dishes like fish and chips. Everything I ate was delicious and new to me. I was sometimes confused by lifestyle differences, but this one-month homestay gave me a great chance to deepen my understanding of other culture. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to my host family for welcoming me warmly.
  • What was the biggest hardship you faced?
I went through great hardships to be actively involved in English classes in Dublin City University. My classmates, particularly those from other countries, were not afraid of making mistakes and asked our teacher many questions, but I was too shy to speak up in every class and felt depressed at first. However, I never gave up and made efforts one after another. Then, I was getting better at speaking English and able to speak in class without any hesitation. I sometimes had a tough time in class, but those experiences were perfect opportunities for me to outgrow my old self.
  • What are you putting your most effort into right now?
I'm studying hard to pass the Grade 1 of the English Language Proficiency Test, called Eiken in Japan, because I would like to acquire confidence in my English and get a step closer to my dream of working as an English teacher. I try to learn new words as many as possible and solve questions from past exams every day. It is said that the level I am going to try is extremely difficult and not easy to pass, but I definitely continue to make a persistent effort and will pass it someday. I believe that my persistence will be paid off someday.
