  • What was the most memorable/impressive experience?
The most memorable experience was an event whose concept was to spread Japanese culture. I was a member of the promotion team. I faced many difficulties such as cultural difference and relationship among the promotion team members. I was really stressed with those things and sometimes I wanted to throw everything away. However, my friends helped me a lot, so I changed my mind. I got lots of wonderful experiences, and I realized the most important thing is not speaking English well but having courage.
  • What skill did you gain the most (academically or socially)?
I gained confidence the most through my study abroad. Before the study abroad, I didn't have confidence in myself. I obviously improved my English skills during my staying, but I also got many experiences and they made me strong. Through the study abroad, I faced unexpected things and I dealt with them. I decided many things by myself. It will be useful for my future life. Moreover, I now feel I can talk with anyone. At first, I was a very shy person and it took much time to open up my mind, but I have come to be able to really enjoy talking with many friends who have different backgrounds.
  • What was the biggest hardship you faced?
The biggest hardship I faced was when COVID-19 came to the UK. I had to check both information released by the UK and Japanese governments. There was a lot of fake news, so it was hard to decide whether it was true or not. It really stressed me out, and at the same time, I was sad to have to leave the UK sooner than I had planned. Although I faced such a hard situation, I was really lucky to go study abroad before the regulated situation began.
