  • What was your proudest accomplishment during your stay?
I felt the sense of accomplishment the most when I saw the result of the exam. My stay was only for three weeks, but I got a very good score on the final exam. I am really proud of myself for having done my best in the classes and on homework and the exam. It also inspired me to study harder.
  • What skill did you gain the most (academically or socially)?
What I gained the most was the listening skills. I regularly do self-study of Korean in addition to learning mainly grammar at school. But, having conversations with native Korean teachers and tutors helped me learn correct pronunciations.
  • What is the biggest thing you wish you would have done during the stay?
I should have made more local friends. I have kept our friendship with my tutor after my stay, and we always meet up when I visit Korea. Still, if I had made more native Korean friends who cannot speak Japanese, I would have had more opportunities to force myself to speak Korean.
