  • What was your most memorable/impressive experience?
Performing the traditional Soran-Bushi dance at the International Festival on campus was the most impressive to me. It was a really great experience. Practicing and making costumes were kind of hard work, but in the end it was all worth it. A lot of people came to watch and enjoyed our performance. I felt like more people became interested in Japanese culture because of our dance.
  • What was the most crucial thing in preparation before leaving Japan?
It is important to prepare for talking about Japanese culture and my own daily life in English. Questions like "What is your own country/university like?" often come up during conversations with friends and during class, and I wanted to be able to speak about these topics confidently in order to make friends.
  • What was your proudest accomplishment during your stay?
During my study abroad, I've done a lot of presentations. I haven't had many opportunities to do so in Japan, and I didn't have confidence in my skills. Little by little, I've become better and able to do a decent presentation. I even got compliments on my last presentation from my teachers and friends.
