- What skill did you gain the most (academically or socially)?
- What I learnt in York was the skill of writing essays using MLA style strictly, and that made my essays' level higher than previous ones of mine. In addition to it, I could overcome the cultural differences and made friends with people from other countries, enjoying teaching each language together.

- What was the biggest hardship you faced?
- It was my first time that I lived abroad alone. Before that, I had never felt that I AM Japanese and Asian and this fact will never change. I made every effort that I could do to break the cultural wall, but most of those trials ended in failure. However, I finally found people who try to understand others with different backgrounds and I was helped by them.

- What was your most memorable/impressive experience?
- My most memorable experience was the lunchtime concert I held in the university. I have played the violin for 19 years and I took my buddy (my instrument) to York. I had some difficulties both in daily lives and study, but when I held it I found that one woman in the audience who had blonde hair and blue eyes was applauding to me with tears streaming down her face. That was the time I noticed the power of music that can connect people's hearts and overcome cultural differences.
