  • What was your most memorable/impressive experience?
The most memorable experience was outdoor activities I joined outside of class. Oregon has a lot of beautiful nature so we often went for camping or hiking on weekends with other students, which I have never experienced in Japan. On these trips, we chatted with people from other countries while hiking, pitched a tent together and shared foods. Everything was unforgettable memory for me.
  • What was your proudest accomplishment during your stay?
My proudest accomplishment during my stay was to complete all the classes I took with good grades. The main purpose of studying abroad was to deepen my knowledge of my major, Linguistics. So, I took classes that TWCU does not offer. I had plenty of homework every week but my classmates had helped me work on homework and study for exams, and I could work them through.
  • What skill did you gain the most (academically or socially)?
A skill I gained the most socially was advocating for myself. There was a lot of work that I had to do by myself since I started preparing for studying abroad. During this process, I made a habit of asking questions to offices. Not only the preparation but during the stay, I had to visit professors to ask questions about classes. Advocating for myself is a very important skill I gained throughout the whole process.
